Im wondering if there is a chart or something that shows the proper feeds and speeds for different metals as well as what the best cutting tools for those materials are.

That is very helpful software, somewhat limited, no specs for end mill under .062 or ball end mills (that is not a criticism) after all he is providing his efforts free of any charge, a real nice guy. I use it all the time, also has drill and tap information for more threads then you can name.

You can usually get a 'slide rule' from cutter manufacturers that calculate speeds and feeds (most have materials listed with starting surface speeds).

I have several. Next time you buy some tools you might ask whoever you buy from if they have one.

I use the ME Consultant almost daily. I originally got a copy back in the mid 90's (it was called ME Helper then). Since then it has been upgraded and updated and has come to be a valuable tool in my day-to-day activities. With the recent addition of the JOB PLANNER, I have been able to quote jobs a bit quicker with a little more accuracy and the printed reports help me remember my thought process if we should win the bid for that job.

Kudos to MRAINEY (a member of this forum) for a very useful program. BTW, you can download a copy on this forum and read some comments from other users here. (http://cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1852&page=1&pp=5&highlight=Consultant)
