I'm using DOM tubing which is 6 inches long and I need to thread it 3 inches deep on either end using a 5/8 X 18 tap. The problem is no threading bars seem to go more than 1-1/2".

Any suggestions for a brand of threading bar that can thread a 5/8 three inches deep.

Thanks

Todd!

Not a problem Todd, use a tap extension.

You could also use a threading mill tool with a reduction sleeve. In some types of tubing I have found it fast and reliable to use thread milling.

My input!

Hey Todd,

I got a 1/2-13 tap from Kennametal that was 8" long overall. The only problem you will have is getting lube into the hole to make the tap last.
