Go to the www.machsupport.com site and follow the forum drop downs to the last general drop. Scroll down till you come to two different threads abour probing. One is started by stirling and the other either by myself or vmax. There is a ton of outside effort being put into developing new 2d, 3d and a combination of the two routines. There are links on stirling's thread that are simply amazing.

There's a probing wizard in Mach3, and a probing plugin here:

Sorry about that racaer. Here you go. In addition, these two threads will give you much more power in your probing, including the ability to used a probed profile to define the probing surface without having a lot of wasted strokes that are included in both the wizard and the plugin.

I fully expect these two to combine eventually into a killer probing plugin.

Switcher, turmite, Gerry, others
First, I want to thank you guys for chiming in. This is the kind of forumn that should be on every site. People like you all, that have the knowledge does not mind sharing that knowlege and experience with people such as I. My hat is off to youall and the others on this forumn that take your valuable time and share. I hope one day to be able to help others as you have helped me. I am by no means a Mach3 expert, but with people like you leading the way, I get closer everyday.
thanks fellows and your new friend
