Hey, here is a crown that I made on the cnc using Madcam. Originally, it was 10' long. This is left over from making a custom mantle.

The 10' piece needed about 2 minutes of sanding and I ran it through the table saw to cut the back angles.

Tools used, .5" downcut for roughing and profiling, .25 ball endmill for surfaces and 90deg insert v-groove for top angle, base angle, 90 corner for the dentil molding and for each little step between surfaces.

Glad to see a fellow woodworker having success with Madcam. Was there anything else on your mantel project that Madcam was useful for?

On this particular one, I only modeled the crown. I'll snap a picture of it finished. It was a real simple mantle.

I'm working on modeling other things to machine with Madcam like floral designes to be machined into friezes and possible cabinet doors.

I have used Madcam to machine guitar bodies with very good success.
