Greetings,

I'm trying to do some cost analysis for producing a wooden innovative cutting board that I want to launch & mass manufacture. What are the steps to produce a prototype & mass produce a wooden product?

Like plastics, is a mold needed, or can production run from just a CAD file?

It would depend on how the item will be manufactured? If it's wood, though, you would typically just need a drawing.

You can't mold wood... Unless you mean some sort of "chemical wood"?
Normally, it will be cut out from wooden stock. A CAD file is all you need, the CNC shop do the rest.
