I am looking to order an Ugra squared spindle for my machine but I have no clue how I am going to attach it to the Z on my machine.
Can one of you gentleman or maybe CNCRP chime in?

The spindle has threaded holes on the back.

I am looking at this:

GMT Air Cooled CNC Spindle 0.8 kW 220 V S (http://ugracnc.com/CNC-SPINDLES/Milling-Spindle-0.75-kW-220-V.html)

I don't have me kit yet so haven't been able to plan it out exactly. However, my hope is that I can simply drill and countersinking several holes in the z axis plate and mount the spindle this way. if that doesn't work I'll make a custom aluminum z axis plate or make an adapter plate.

I found this: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5329/9704258043_d263c57498_z.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.cnczone.com/forums/momus-design-cnc-plans/179064-cnc-4.html&h=360&w=640&tbnid=xbRDBRJpc4XmXM:&zoom=1&docid=3bWsH_5TNcW7PM&ei=MU0IVa6UHcmogwTNroGwAQ&tbm=isch&ved=0CFQQMygtMC0

looks like something similar will have to be done.

Good research, I agree that something like that will need to be done. Looks like that is done on their standard machines, I wonder how the PRO z axis layout will effect that.

I am going to ask for a model for the Z axis. I just downloaded the model from UGRA.
I think this is going to need a plate with counter-bored holes etc.

Here is a link to the drawings of the mount I currently have. From there you can see where the holes need to be to attach to the Pro-Z

I know this is an older thread, but CRP's now has a solution for mounting the square spindles.
Not yet on the website, but just contact them for info.
