so I got my table built and it moves!!!! x,y,z etc. I am having a problem with tuning the motors. Let me first say this I am a complete noob to all of this so if I say something stupid just correct me lol.
So the machine moves pretty slow and have no idea how I am supposed to tune these motors. I honestly googled It a bunch but I did not find any good threads on the topic from start to finish.
This is a kit I purchased Standard Rack and Pinion Drive, Nema 23 | CNCRouterParts (http://www.cncrouterparts.com/standard-rack-and-pinion-drive-nema-23-p-50.html) if you read at the bottom it says mach3 settings. Do I just need to know how many steps my motor is and use that calculation?
Here is the kit I purchased from ebay it does not say how many steps it is?

Also thanks for the help guys!

I think I got it figured out. I typed in the number given from cncrouterparts. I don't know for sure but jogging around this thing is fairly slow and I don't know exactly how to speed it up? I set the jogging to 100% so I know that's good. I only have trial version of mach3 could this be the problem? Or am I missing something? I see other people with the same motor specs on youtube moving much faster even with the gear reduction.

ArtSoft USA - Video Tutorials (http://www.machsupport.com/videos/) (and review the install and basic configuration video) You will still be limited on your file size

Are you jogging from the screen buttons or the keyboard?
If the keyboard, hold the shift key while jogging to jog at rapid rate.
Also, try changing your feedrate, if it's at the default 6ipm.

What are your velocity settings in motor tuning?

Sounds like velocity problems..
