View Full Version : Replacement driver for TB6560

I'm still debugging, but I'm worried that I have fried my z-axis driver board.

It's a TB6560 chipset (Univelop) that has the parallel interface/master board and breakout boards for each of the individual axis

A single replacement board is about 2x what similar boards run.

Am I safe getting a generic TB6560 replacement board? It looks like they all have the 6 inputs, so just a matter of figuring out which is which?

May not be what you want to hear, but you may be throwing good money after bad buying another of the TB6560 based boards. They all suffer from the same design problems and usually require a lot of PCB and circuit reworking to work adequately. They also have a very peculiar power on/off sequence that must be followed to reduce the chance of blowing the driver IC's. You'd be better off with almost any other driver available over the TB6560's.

You could simply buy the chip itself however and replace the dead one.

cheers, Ian

I suspected that might be the case. I'm not opposed to replacing my control system, but I need to justify the proof of concept to my wife before I can put $300 more..
