What do they mean by amps per phase?

I'm looking at the xylotex board and it has a limit of 2.5A/phase. The motors I am looking at:

These are 2A per phase, does phase refer to each motor? Example, if my X axis is running at the same time the Y is, will I blow my board?

Thanks,

Matt

Most stepper motors have 2 phases, and are rated at amps per phase. The Xylotex can deliver up to 2.5a/phase, per motor, for up to 3 motors on the 3 axis board. So you could use 3 of the motors you're looking at. But, you're torque will probably fall off very rapidly as speed increases, due to the higher voltage rating on those motors.
