This is Dave Kowalczyk, author of TurboCNC. If you're curious about what this new forum is about, take a glance at the website for the software:

DAK Engineering homepage (http://www.dakeng.com)

TurboCNC is as of this writing a DOS based control software that takes standard RS-274 G codes and produces motion via step and direction or direct phase outputs.

The code is generalized for up to 8 axes of motion, allowing "doomsday machines" to be controlled by the more enterprising among us. It was originally written for lathe control, and as such features turning cycles and single point threading using an encoder. Most TurboCNC users are running 3 axis vertical milling machines.

You may try a fully functional copy of the software with no strings attached by downloading it here:

TurboCNC download page (http://www.dakeng.com/turbo.html)

Registration for version 3.1a is $20 US, and gives you access to the source code for the program.

A completely revised version (4.00) is imminent, and in about a year it is anticipated that a Windows port of the software will become available using an external "smart" pulse generator.

I'll be checking into this forum routinely...
