Hi All,

I've got a new machine for running Mach... trouble is the driver test shows a max Pulse frequency of 23,500-23,800 rather than the stated 24,600 objective. The question here is: Is this crucial? Do others experience this limit as well?

Background: This is a new Asus P5LD2 and a 2.67GHz P4 with 512MB running XP Pro SP2. I've gone through the XP config steps and implemented nearly all of the config settings (instructions [vcache] under [386enh] in System.ini were not clear--this is the only entry not made). FYI, when I first ran the test before doing any of the config, it ran at 23,800, and after doing all of the config optimization steps it still runs at the same pulse rate. There's nothing running on this thing not needed; 19 processes, 140MB committed. It's lean but not doing what I would expect.

Anyone have any ideas???

Thanks

I think as long as the speed is relatively steady, it should be OK. Try it and see.

As long as your timmer variations are good you should not have a problem, I get the same with my 1.7g I use.

Gerry and Joe,

Thanks a bunch for your replies. It is indeed steady, and no spikes longer than the 1/4" limit, so I'll simply move forward. :wee:

Thanks for your attention!!
