Hi joe's17,

I'm relatively new to myself, but from what I've read, you'll need 3 different pieces of software to control that router.

CAD, the software you'll use to design with, Rhino in my case. (Solidworks, Google Sketchup, MasterCAD $1000.00 and up)

CAM, the software that converts your design files into G code, Rhino plugin in my case. This piece of software doesn't have to be from the same vender.

Last piece of software takes the g code and tells the router what to do. (Mach3 I would say is the most popular $175)

This is a basic explanation at my experience level. I'm sure someone else will chime in to add or correct me.

dinky,

Are you missing an interface between the computer and CNC machine?
