View Full Version : Rhinocam seems optimized for metal-working?

All the tools in the library are metal-working tools - end mill, ball mill, etc. All the materials are metals. So all the tool defaults seem to assume you'll be working with metal. I don't see a way to add materials? It would be nice to get the benefit of being able to select a material (wood, plywood, mdf, fiber-board) and have feed rates adjusted accordingly.

Also, I don't see a way to store abilities of tools, such as, this bit should have a maximum depth pass of 1/4", etc... every time I make an operation, such as 2.5d profiling, I have to specify the depth of roughing passes, etc. It's a bit repetitive and error prone, if I set the roughing depth to 1/2" but forget to set a pass size, and use a 1/4" bit, it's bad times.

I'm using an eval copy so obviously I'm very new to all of this, maybe there are settings hidden somewhere that I'm not seeing? Any help appreciated.
