Hello, I'm looking for paid help with a project.
(if I should be posting this elsewhere, please let me know)

I have some special keyboards which needs a housing.

I need someone who can help me as follows:
1. Tell me the cost of getting a design done
2. Advise me what materials are suitable
3. Help me choose a shop for the production
4. Estimate costs for production and materials.

The 25 keyboards will be sold on eBay, so,
there is a budget available.

Pictures of the keyboard can be found:

There's also a picture of an existing housing, which does not work well.
This will be a new housing to fix the deficiencies of the previous case.
(I will explain the deficiencies in detail later)

hello,

as material I think you can use FOREX.
it is a high density expanded rigid plastic which can be milled easily
the sheets are between 1 and 19mm (Forex Classic - white)

the design will depend on your desired shape of the housing. the keyboards have to fit somewhere or will be "stand alone" version?

CamK,
There are many options to produce your keyboard housing, thermoforming, CNC machining, molding, RP, etc...Much depends on the design features you include in the part. Please feel free to email me additional information. We may be able to help you out.

No matter what method used a 25 piece run is going to have a high piece price as set-up costs will only be amortized over 25 units. Hope you are realistic with what pricing to expect.
