Got the opportunity to beta test Ron's latest contribution to the Mini-Mill community. It's a must have.

It is one & the same. Ron Steele mfrs them for Little Machine Shop. He will also be offering them on his website soon. Lots of detailed pics at the link but I'll post a few here too.

bought online from his website on the 5th using paypal. Item shipped USPS on the 7th, on my machine the 9th. Glad I did it. Much quieter. I've already gone through broken gears on the original design so I expect it to be a big improvement.

I fitted mine with the LMS version about 6 months ago - it is excellent and the higher speed is useful for the work that I do - primarily with small cutters ( 1/16" - 1/8") in brass and aluminum. I'd like to go even faster but I'm not sure that the bearings would handle it.

The LMS version is made by Steele. Same thing. LMS didn't show stock when I wanted to buy so I went to Steele. Also a little less for me since LMS charges tax for CA buyers.

I installed mine last week, and like you, have nothing but good things to say about it. Very nicely made, everything fits properly, and being able to actually hear the endmill sizzling through the material (rather than noisy gears) is like music to the ears!

Nice job Ron! Highly recommended to all x2 owners....
