Hi Guys

I am really new to the cnc world.

I need some help, i have been researching and learning. I want to create
shapes on a flat bed and be able to stretch the shape but not change some parts,

For example i have retangle, along the bottom edge i want to add a shape ( a step up of 50mm approx 300mm from the end at an angle of 45 degrees.

I am using a trial of Vcarve i down load from there site. When i draw a shape
then stretch it the section that comes up on the 45 degrees changes. The bigger i make the shape the bigger the angle becomes.

Does this make sense. I want to extend the total length or shorten but not change the angle. Is it possible....

I think i need to do it with a software parametrically??? just not sure..

hoping for help

Thanks

Go Into Node Edit Mode.

Holding the shift key, click on the 3 point at the edge of your rectangle.
Release the shift key.
Click (and hold) one of the 3 red points, and drag to where you want.

Hi Gerry

Thank you so much,

Im close to knowing it will do what i need.

I have now been able to select the vector i want to keep in proportion
so given i select these how can i then tell it what size,

Rather than dragging, i need to re size to a specific size and also do same to each end, Imagaine it is a square with a 45 degree bite taken out of bottome edge.

Need to keep that 45 degree bite equal from each end (300) but change the overall length... Normall when i want to resize a square rectangle i push T on keyboard and type new size. Cant do when i select in Node editing mode

Hope this makes sense,

Thanks
Anthony
