    Question Modifying a Post

    Hello,

I need help to modify a Fanuc post on AlphaEdit such that the post assigns N line numbers to every tool change in the code.

If anyone could advise me on how to make that possible it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
If you only want line numbers at the Tool Change and nowhere else remove all the N[N] codes in the Post using Replace (Find and Replace text),
then search for the $80 section of the Post and place a N[N] at the beginning of the line in that section you want the line number.
    i.e.
$80 Select new tool. Use [T] for new tool number, [S] for spindle speed.

    ( [TNM] )

    N[N] T[T] M6
    G90 G10 P[OFS] R[TL]

then search for the $715 section of the Post and change the Line Start Number to what you want
    i.e.
    $715 Line start number
    10

and the Line Number Increment to what you want
    i.e.
    $716 Line number increment
    10
