Have you tried hooking it up yet? If so, what was the problem?
I have recently purchased a Roland Pix3 touch Probe Scanner. I know it is long since been discontinued, and probably goes back to
Win 95. Any information regarding setting it up would be appreciated. I am assuming that it will only work with a 32 bit machine,
luckily I do have one that I can run either Windows XP or Win 7 on, 32 bit. I have been told that the 9 pin serial hook-up presents problems,
Please get back to me with any information that you have on this set-up. I can also be reached at lotec@cox.net.
thank you,
Witelite

Yes, I connected it from my Scanner to my 9 pin serial port on my i-5 Desktop, installed Dr Picza v 2.7. I first went into the controller to set the pitch to .006 for both X and Y axes. A problem occurs when I go to set the Z Bottom.
I get the following message for all 4 ports. "Com 1 not ready. Please verify that the port is valid or is not in use by another application". I change the port number in File\ Preferences.
Thanks for your response,

Try com 2.
