Description: UPDATE: It's now January 3, 2009 and I had the chance to use this miter saw for the second time and it works great. I use it for small stuff so it does what it's supposed to. Actually I just used it to make a stand for the drill press. Unfortunately I used some old wood that was a bit warped from being outside. I got things cut pretty straight but the warpness showed a bit once I put the stand together. Not bad for free hand work and no workbench yet. This type of tool comes in very handy to get you started though.

Admin, I need more room to add the rest of the pictures here. Is there any way we can do this or do I have to stick to the old way of posting? I rather put the new items here...thanks.

I just got the miter saw this week on special and it seems to work fine for the simple cutting. It's just loud, but most of these seem to be. The hand held/manual saw we have makes about the same noise as this one, it's not from HF, but it's nice to have one like this for basic cutting. The others were the sliding type, but larger and a bit heavier. This one is pretty light so this is nice too. We don't do much wood work, but for making a bench and small stuff, this will hopefully make quick work of it.

The first thing I did was check the brushes and well, until I figure out how to add more pictures then I guess I'll wait. If I try to add them now, they will just be overwritten. So this isn't working like I thought it would at the moment.

I did a practice cut on a small square piece of wood with the straight and 45 degree angles and they are as straight as can be. At least for my simple cutting needs. It does feel nice cutting with this one rather than the hand held one.

We did get a finer toothed blade with this one. It comes with like a 60 tooth blade I think and we got an 80 tooth as well.

Please feel free to post your own experience with this saw, good or bad. I hope this helps others a bit. Any little help I also appreciate. Thanks.
