Description: SprutCAM Expert is the most complete version of SprutCAM, including a complete set of features for the machining of 2D & 3D models including engraving. Designed for undertaking even the most challenging tasks in 2, 2.5, 3 and multi axis CNC machining, SprutCAM Expert offers a complete CAM solution at a very affordable price. In a lot of CAM systems that use surface/solid models, when a model is imported it is "converted" (triangulated) to a simpler format. Unfortunately, this conversion process also results in an "approximated" (less accurate) model. SprutCAM does not convert the model, it works directly with the native surfaces/solids ensuring greater accuracy of the resulting toolpaths.
Keep it simple. That’s what SprutCAM Expert is all about. You don’t need to be a computer "whiz" to be able to use it.

Pros: EASY to use, plays nice with SolidWorks, very comprehensive set of machining types
Cons: Needs lathe support, working with the internal 2d drawing is cumbersome

I\'m someone who jumped into the CAD/CAM CNC world both feet first and didn\'t have prior experiance. I purchased BobCAD first and broke too many computers. (they don\'t like to be thrown) Venturing out in the open market I tried: SolidCAM, MasterCAM, FeatureCAM, GibbCAM, SurfCAM, & SprutCAM.

Out of all these, SprutCAM had me up and producing useable code in one day. It was such a differance that I couldn\'t resist, I\'m hooked.

They are releasing a lathe function sometime this year, and working towards the live 4th and 5th axis.

Another compelling reason, was the lack of \"fees\" associated with other companies.

This would be my rating system:

1. SprutCAM
2. SolidCAM
3. FeatureCAM
4. SheetCAM
5. BobCAM
6. GibbCAM
7. MasterCAM
8. SurfCAM
