It's a 1/2 HP motor, runs at about 16k rpm, to cut metal I would have to look at cooling/lubricant. I have tried to cut aluminium but only taken very shallow cuts 0.01" and the aluminium came off as very fine chips that were airborne ( that scared me a lot - wood dust is bad enough but aluminium! ). I will not try to machine metal again until I have built a full enclosure.
