    Ger21,

    Appreciate this.

If you have the control, can you change the title and just change 60 to 110. If you can not make the change, no big deal.

    Thanks again.

Build progress .... tables tubes and bench drill vice will be delivered tomorrow and I will use the table corners which are in one of the boxes I have not opened yet to mark holes in the tubes. I do have HSS end mills which I was planning to use for CNC practice before promoting myself to more expensive endmills. I am planning on using hss end mill with my drill press to make holes in tubes which is 1/8 inch thick. If hss end mill is not the right thing to use, can you point me to a product or web site where I can get the right drill? I do remember making few holes in my cabinet saw for sliding table installation and it was not fun. Hope drill press and right bit will make life little easy.

George sent me tracking number of 50lb box he sent yesterday evening. I think this box do have legs. I should be able to assemble the stand as soon as this box arrive here (usually it takes one week). George's shipping partner is in US but he is coming back in pm and George told me that he will be able to send me more tracking numbers then. George did mention some issues with the motor mount in one of his emails last night but he told me that he will help me get it done. Motor mount may be more expensive than we thought but money is not an issue right now. I hope motor mounts will not become a bottleneck.

All in all, I have very positive feeling now and I hope I will be able to share my progress in about a week when I will have few more components. Be ready for my dumb questions though.

    Regards,

I am not a metal guy so cannot answer your end mill question. It appears many are apprehensive of drilling steel.I have drilled A-36 1/4" steel as if it was butter.Proper rpm and cutting oil makes a difference.I think I was using dewalt split point drills.

    Regards,
dont use end mills to drill. a drill press tends to have play, which will cause the end mill to wobble, chatter, and possible chip, becoming useless for future work.

any coated standard point drill bit from home depot should work for you here, its not a demanding task.

    Larry,
You mentioned lubrication. I am sure I will learn more about cutting lubrication when I get the mill but for now, do you think md40 is good enough ?

I think ihavenofish would be better qualified to answer that question.WD-40 is a water displacement which lightly lubes and prevents corrosion.Good for drilling steel?I don;t know.Have I used it to drill steel?Yes,WD-40 claims 2000 uses.I have read it is good treatment for arthritis .A friend says he uses it as a creme rinse.
For drilling aluinium Ivory soap works.Wish I could learn how to spell aluinium properly.Hope I do not get deleted for bad jokes

Evidentally that is what WD stands for.

To this day I swear that WD-40 got ride of a stubborn wart I had on my finger. I had a 1983 VW Rabbit I had to do a lot of work on and WD-40 was the only thing to get the bolts to break free. I was a dummy and didn't wear gloves. The over spray is what I give the medicinal credit to.

2000+ WD-40 Uses | Remove Paint, Rubber Adhesive, Rust Stains, & More

I have used it as cutting oil. I had to drill holes in a 1/16" plate. I used the cheapest HSS bit known to man and WD-40 worked well, but after around 8 holes the bit had had it.

The size is not what I used... I think I used 1/2 inch. But the quality was the same. I also used a HF step bit with success.

wd40 will burn, dont use it for drilling steel.

just use a low rpm and drill dry. then file the burrs down afterward. thats the nice thing about steel. you can never cut too slow.

    Isn't WD Kerosene based?
For drilling steel I still like Lard Oil when you can get it.
    Excellent for threading steel also.

So what do I got so far

    Hi,
Before Gerry removed the garbage, there was some info here that I got most of the parts of the machine. I looked at the boxes I had and that statement did not look right. I sent few messages to George and no response. I did send the message to the person who posted here thinking that that person has some inside scoop but no luck. So here we go (please keep this thread clean, I am just stating the facts and need help).

First let me list the things I ordered from latest invoice dated 2/12. We decided to change the profile to 8016 latter 110 inch table strength.

    DemonX 54x60
    2525 B/S
    8 inch Z axis
    Extend to 108 inch
    Extend to 8080 profile
    T-Slot table top
    spindle mount
    spindle teknomotor 3hp DB
    Cable chain
5 prox switch (I asked George to change this to 2, as I got three from dmm kit)
    3 motor mounts
stand corner 16, legs 4 (i think this is type, we did talk about 6 legs and central support)
    stand hw bags 3

Now here is what I have

I received 2.7hp spindle instead of 3hp. .3 hp is not going to make a big dent but I would have preferred the promised spindle. Shipping it back and pushing to get the right spindle is too mush work. I will keep the 2.7 hp spindle. No sure how to check if it double bearing.

I do have 8 stand corners. Means I can not make the stand by the end of this weekend unless George has included additional corners in the box he sent on Friday which has stand legs (I hope six).

I have three pieces of table top. Each tile you are seeing in the picture is 13X13, I think table top 6 inch wide. I will have at least 18 table top pieces, so I am missing 15 table top pieces.

I do have 3 hw bags. One bag did not have screws but I did get loose screws from different boxes. Although number of loose screws are less than what I see in the sealed bags but this should not be show stopper. I also got a bearing holder, you can see it corner of picture with hw bags.

I do have a ball screw which is 54-55 inch, I think this is for short span. B/S looked smaller in reality, never seen ballscrew before.

I do get two end plates, I also got a another plate which is little wider then end plate, I think this is moving plate under the table. I also got two 54-55 inch profiles one is little smaller then other. I think they will be used for moving the gentry on smaller span (I think). I also got five blocks of two different types. You can see them in picture, two of them are in yellow box and three are in black box. I also got two upright and I was surprise with their size. In pictures George post they look so big (they are 18 inch long). No complains, I rather have light pieces, just opening five boxes is taking its toll and I will be on bed for rest of the day.

I know that I need gentry, side rails, side profile, table top but I do not know enough to complete the list of missing parts. So the question is what else do I need to complete the table and unfortunately XZero is not responding to my question. I know that one box is on its way (I double checked and it weigh 23 lbs not 50 lbs I reported before) and two tubes will be shipped today from buffalo (I am promised tracking numbers this morning and still waiting).
