New Raptor, what lube to use for Ball Screws
I'm new to CNC with a new Raptor 24X48. What kind of lube do you use for the ball screws? Also are the zerks on the bearing blocks standard auto type or are they smaller? I'm getting the EP-2 grease for the bearing blocks, how much do you pump in them the 1st time?
Thanks for any help!

Re: New Raptor, what lube to use for Ball Screws
I found out from George to use the same EP-2 grease on the ball screws, there's a place on the ball nut that you can grease with a zerk ( I haven't done this yet) wipe off any excess. As for the zerks on the bearing blocks. I found out they are 2 peice so you can take them apart and remove them after greasing so they don't take up some travel room. Also the end of most grease guns is adjustable by unscrewing the end of the coupling a little bit, so don't do what I did and rip the zerk out of the bearing block trying to get the gun off the zerk. Loosen the coupling and it will slide right off. Doesn't take much grease, 1 to 1 and a half pumps was all it took.
