    Maybe a big oops

Last night I was hooking up the motors on my new 4 axis board following instructions. But I apperently was having a issue with reading the paper.

I hooked up the X axis motor and thought it would be cool to see if it ran back and forth. I made sure that the other motors were disabled in Mach 3 and did a jog test the motor jogged then I tried the other way the motor turned the same way.

The short story is I had put the dir pin number for Y in the X axis dir.

My question is, is that enough to fry the Y axis drive because the Y motor is not hooked up yet. I don't have my Y wiring in place yet and I now that I can just move the X motor over to the Y axis drive and test, but it was late last night and I did not want to mess up twice in one night. I wont be able to get back to the machine till probably sunday.

    Thanks
    Glenn

Smile Most likely your board is fine

    Glenn,

Most likely your board is fine, its the spike that kills them when you remove or connect a stepper under load that you need to worry about.
