Hi,
This is really just a vote of thanks for Jeff and his service!
Problem: After doing some cutting the Z-Axis stopped working and after some checks were done by me I determined that the chip on the Z-Axis was dead. It probably died when it got a bit hot as the heatsink had fallen off. Even though it was out of warranty by a long time, Jeff told me to send it to him anyway.
Solution: A new board arrived last week and after doing the vref settings it is working like a champion again. I also bought another board because I did not want to be without a working CNC ever again. He even re-credited me $10 of shipping fees!
He did charge for the repair, which was more than fair because I got a replacement board which is the latest design
The other thing you should know is that I am fairly disabled and Jeff knew nothing about that.
Cheers,
Bob
hi bob,
i am in melbourne to freind, are you using EMC2 ubuntu or Mach3?
could you post some pics of your machine?
i have got a xylotex 4axis kit, want to convert a hack drill table for starters.
liking the look of 5 axis, very cool, need rigidity and zero backlash for a good rig though.
could i drop by for a gander?
best regards from dirk.
