Hi all,

I'm wanting to add some more goodies to my Xylotex controller. The first thing I'm wanting to add is an e-stop switch; however, I'll need to add a spindle relay/power outlet so that when I hit the e-stop everything will stop.

Has anyone wired up an emergency stop switch and spindle relay on their xylotex?

The other thing I'm looking to add is some homing/limit switches.

I can't seem to locate any wiring schematics anywhere.

If someone could please advise or direct me to a source of schematics, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Simple switches are VERY easy to hook up to a controller like this.

Input pins on the port have a weak pull-up. IE: they are 4.8v by default. If you tie the pin to ground, you just flipped the circuit.
(printer port ground, NOT power ground)

input----\
..........Switch
gnd-----/

Simple as that.

NC(normally closed) switches are best for CNC since they will trigger if there is a wire break. *Nothing* worse than stomping on an Estop button whose hookup wire broke a week ago.
