I'm not sure what forum to post this in but here goes.... I turned on my Xylotex/Taig system yesterday to cut some parts. The fan sucked in a piece of a plastic bag and I pulled it out. A few seconds later, the fan stopped turning so I turned off the system to avoid an overheat. I turned it back on, the fan spun for about half a second and shut down again. I tried this several times with the same result. The fan always spins and then stops, the red power LED goes off on the stepper board, I turn the whole thing off again. I've checked all my connections and everything seems to be tight. Xylotex hasn't responded yet. What could the problem be? gs

| If you have a meter, check the outputs on your power supply.

| Is the fan a tachometer fan? a lot of teh fans have teh ability to dete3ct if they are turning or not. if they think they are not turninig, they will stop, though most will usually try to restart. Is it possible the plastic bag being pulled out caused a transistor or some other part to bend over and break a lead or short out a lead? Just things to look at. Good luck. |
