I think you will be very happy with that controller. I love mine. The price was right the shipping was great and Jeff is very very very good on his support!!!!!!!!!!!!
As it says, well done to xylotex for speedy delivery!
I was a bit wary ordering from the US, being in the UK, but I ordered the board last thursday, and it's just arrived! So that's 3 business days! Good job, now I just gotta build the machine to use it on!

It's such a shame that site, is slaming this site I would say that is a VERY BAD move.
Back on topic, I was going to try those drives but went with the Gecko drives instead. When the service is good, it makes it all worth it.![]()

I have already used the Xylotex driver board. A wonderful system and easy to set up.
I'm building another machine and planning to use the Gecko 201 boards. I already odered one and finding out Gecko is not as easy as the Xylotex. I guess I'm in need of a control board that goes between the computer and the stepper driver board. I could use a few pointers here for the people that have already worked with Gecko driver boards.
Appreciate some pointers,
Jim
I bought a gecko 201 driver and had a problem hooking it up. Didn't have a controller and didn't know that I needed one. I emailed Gecko for some help and all they would tell me was that there was ample support on their web site and didn't care to give me any more.![]()
Jim, You don't have to have an interface board between the Gecko and the PC. It just makes it easier. You can take a 25 pin cable that plugs into your PC's printer port and cut off the other end to expose the 25 wires. Using your controller software to determin your pin usage (Most use in order of step, direction and X,Y,Z would be pin 2,3 for X 4,5 for Y 6,7 for Z) find the wire number 2,3 and hook to the step, direction on the first Gecko and so on. You see that this is not a clean way of doing it but it would work.

About Xylotex- good service, right price, speedy delivery- I`d recommend this board to anyone...You get all the cables, basic motors, just ad power supply and whole thing is running in 60 min- very cool....
