I've hooked up my xylotex 3 axis driver and I get nothing from the z axis. I plugged the z motor into the y axis and the motor runs. I tried switching the step/dir pins in software and the pins work. I didn't see any smoke. Does anyone know of any other tests I can do? |

| Does the Z motor lock up when power is applied? If it does, it's probably not the board. Have you checked the VREF setting for the Z axis?

| I found out what was my problem. I had short in the supplied cable that came with the kit. Pin 6 was showing countinity with 7-13 and 18 -25. The only difference so far is that my Z axis would lock up. So test the gray cable that came with the kit to see if that might be your problem. |

| If it doesn't lock up, the board may be bad. Email Jeff at Xylotex to find out what to do.

Hello... Same thing happened to me....is there a know problem here? After just a few cuts, the z-axis is refusing to move the motor...I know motor is good, since when plugged to another axis, it works. I emailed Jeff, and he said that the board might be bad..thinks I might have used a vacuum during the cutting, and an electrostatic charge from the vaccumm might have damaged the board...thing is the vaccuum was NOT close to the board... So we will see... |
