| OK, we were both partly right or partly wrong, depending on how you look at it! In my application I am using a Pacsci NEMA 34 POWERPAC 4 lead series connected motor with a holding torque of 845 oz in and microstepping at 5000 steps/rev. It is fast (do not have to gear down) and silky smooth and accurate. I cannot imagine anything better, unless I wanted to machine air and needed the extra speed |

| Do you mind if I ask what those cost?

| I purchased 4 in all from a guy on e-bay who intoduced them one at a time. I puchased the first one for $65 "buy now". It was listed as being removed from a machine but it was actually brand new (no marking round the screw holes) I purchased 2 others as "new in their boxes" at $75 each, "buy now" The last one he listed had received very little interest and I put in a bid and got it for $51 The guy did not list the specifications of the motors just the model number code and a picture. The motor is just a single stack so the picture does not look very impressive compared to the large older junk pile motors usually being offered. You needed to go to the Pacsci site and check out the specs for the motors which I guess is too much trouble for most. I have no idea what the list price is for these motors but I am amazed with the performance. I was informed that I had purchased the last of what he had. |
