Hello all - i just recently picked up a taig mill -it is running powermaxx II steppers - 116oz on x and y and the bigger 230 something powermaxx II on the Z axis - All seemed well when i was testing out the unit - however now when i cut a part - after the first operation - when the z comes up and then goes to the next op - its at least .1725 or better above the material - I checked out the settings ( im using mach 3 )and all seems good - I also checked out the bit - i figured it might have pushed in a bit while milling - so i cut the same part next to my vise - and the same happens milling in aluminum or air. Thats the first problem - the second is that when i zero my z axis - and it starts to cut the part - when i return to home - it goes up to my safe z - lowers 80% down to its z zero - then is slows way down ( like half speed ) till it gets to the part... Im baffled - all help is welcome - i am also running an new desktop 3.ghz 512 ram - nothing installed except mill stuff... Thanks |

| Try lowering the acceleration on the Z axis by half and see if it helps. I'd need to see your code for the second one.
