Question Someone Please Check MY circuit

Please take a look at the attached circuit and see if it is correct. I have been procrastinating for 3 years and have to get this going. Needless to say Electrical is my WEAK link.

The Xylotex controller (XS-3525/8S-1) DC input connections are marked "USB" and I have + DC going to it and - DC going to the "GRD".

110 V line going into DC PS. Common going into DC DS. Case of DC PS grouinded.

I am using Xylotex Controllers XS-3525/8S-1. Three of them, back then you could buy them that way. Sounded like a good idea at the time. If one blew you would not have to replace them all like you would if it was a three in one controller.

Thanks

Buy me a Beer?

I believe the board is labeled VBB, not USB. Here's the data sheet if you don't have a copy. It looks like you have it correct.

You are correct. It is VBB.

In the "Absolute max ratings" of the specs, it states 35V including "Back EMF". What is "Back EMF" and how do I measure it?

Thanks, since this portion of the wiring is correct I'll next lay out the connection from the PC to the steppers. And ask someone to verify it.

I may get this working yet.

Thanks

It is wrong after your power supply. You have the drivers in a chain. You should have them wired as a star or hub with all three tapping from one point. You also want to fuse each drive with a diode across the fuse. PMinMo talks about this. There may be information you can use on his site.

I did a search on PMinMo, and found three pages of threads he started. I opened a few but I really don't know what I'm looking for. Sorry I'm a real electrical newbie.
But I think I know what you mean, see attachment. Is this correct.
What value Diode and which way should it be oriented?

Thanks

Question Whats the difference Chain or Hub

I'm a newbie to these electricals. You say a hub/star layout is better than the chain I drew. I added two more drawings showing the fuse and diode as a RED dot in both. I dont see any difference between the two drawings. Neither one is in series.

Please explain.

Thanks

Question What Value Fuse & Diode

By "Across" you mean in Parallel, correct?

What size fuses and diodes would you recommend for this setup? I am using three Xylotex Controllers, XS-3525/8S-1 and three 114 in/lb Xylotex steppers with a 24V 8 Amp DC PS.

I did a search on "PMinMo" and there hundreds of listings could not begin to find the answer for the fuses and diodes.

Thanks
