With that torque and gearing I do not see a problem.

I am building my second machine all of steel and my gantry is around 40 lbs. I use Xylotex 3 axis kit 260 oz/in with ½ 24 tpi in my first machine
If I use acme precision tread ¾ 5tpi and pulley off 15 teeth in motor and 30 teeth in rod will the 495 oz/in new motors be enough to move my machine to a decent 80 ipm keeping enough tork for cutting Mdf and acrylic with out losing steeps?
Thanks for the answers
Hugo Carradini.

Hi Jason
Thanks for your answer. I was not sure and don’t want to throw away my money.

You might want to go direct drive. Keeping the RPM lower may give you more torque, depending on the torque curve of the motor.

Hi Gerry.
If I go direct ¿approximant what constant speed do you think a can reach?
I really appreciate your answers.
Thanks

hi again i replied to your first post, my gantrys weighs about what you are thinking and in mach three it seems to be able to move in motor tuning up there, if someone can tell me if the inches per minute in motor tuning of mach three is accurate i can run them and tell you where they will stall at.
