    looking for sx3 motor pulleys

Does anyone know where to get a pulley that matches the spindle pulley for an sx3 ?

I believe it is an stpd s5m pulley so a super torque 5mm pitch pulley with a .625 bore.

I am switching the motor out to a 3 phase more and a vfd and need to source the pulley and I am having a hard time find one

    Thanks
    Calvin

so i believe i have the spec at this point

the pulley on the spindle of an sx3 is a s5m, which is called super torque. the belt width is 20 mm

i am going to get a few pulleys made with a 1:1 ratio and a bore of .625 (5/8) to match the 1 hp ac motor i have from automation direct, if anyone else is looking for one of these shoot me a pm the cost for 1 and for 5 is almost the same so i may get a few extras made

    SX3 Motor Pulley

I purchased a 44-Tooth Pulley from SDP-SI, Part Number: A 6A55M044NF1512 and use a 92-Tooth Belt, Part Number: A6R55M092150 which is 15mm wide and works Great. The stock motor has a 14mm shaft, the pulley comes with a 12mm hole, so I used my lathe to increase the hole to 14.

is there any major difference between super torque and the GT belts and pulley types ?

being able to use gt pulleys and belts would be much cheaper and easier to source

I believe the pulleys are regular 5mm pitch HTDs. They fit the teeth on my HTD belts.

I make them by turning a disk to the proper diameter and then cut the grooves by plunging a 1/8 ball nose milling bit .085" deep. The Gates catalog lists the outer diameters.

Or you can go to littlemachineshop.com and just get a new motor pulley for a KX3 which will give you a 1 to 1 ratio. That is what I did.

No, the belt is different. I have the correct part number out in the shop if someone needs it.

As H500 stated, an 1/8" ball mill gets it pretty darn close if you want to make a pulley from scratch.

It cuts the torque in half of course. I mainly use mine for aluminum and a little steel and just lighter cuts. If I was going to do several runs of steel I would take 5 minutes and change the pulley combination back.

Honestly, the last time I used the SX3 was making all the mounts for the RF45.
