    Is this sub-category really necessary??

Sorry but I have to ask... is this sub-category really necessary? I see it's getting a whopping 3 posts per week on average so I can't help but think that it was better suited when located within the main benchtop category with the rest of the benchtop mills. I can't imagine that it was placing any kind of a burden on the main category to warrant the need for this sub-category so I have to wonder why this even exists? Furthermore are all these machines not also considered "benchtop" machines? I guess I fail to see the logic behind this.

The logic behind it is that the forum is getting so big it helps others to find info that is for the type machine that is being worked on. At one time there was probably more X3 threads than any other machine (and X2).

All thouigh these machines have fallen off in sales with all the newer machines that are out there is still tons of info about these machines for people to look up. And still the few being sold & converted.

At this time the forum has slowed down quit abit, even the sections getting the most traffic are not getting what they where.

I expect after vacation season and the cold weather kicks in the forum will pic up. Plus after the new years when income tax rolls around it will pick up even more. It does seem to of slowed down more this year than normal but through the summer it does tend to do this. I guess many people are also having money trouble and just have to let there stuff set until better times ( kinda my own case).

I do fail to see any negetive to there being a sub section. I guess there may be some people that would not come in here that normally might offer input if they where in a more visited section, but it appears everyone is getting the anwsers they need the way it is.

I will admite I dont come in here everytime I visit, but I try to atleast check it a couple times a week, if not more. And I have seen other regulars that also do the same.

Its getting really hard to find some of the old info where there was tons of great threads, build or other wise, with info that is getting hard to find when you need it. I do wish they had a section for the best threads to be posted & keep there just so they would be found. It seems some of the older threads where the best and most innovative IMHO. As the forum grows its going to need sectioned up even more just to help keep the info organized (somewhat). Even now when using the search funtion it turns up so much it takes hours just to weed through it. And thats even keeping it norrowed down to a sub section. Just think if this sections info was in the bigger section, it would simply be pages & pages back very quick.

It's easy to see the best threads, click on the rating, replies or views at the top of the forum and it sorts them for you.
