ww- its a prototype for a client, but I can say that you are correct. they are removable luggage tracks for sport bikes that mount to the passenger pegs. its a first for sport bikes.

rpovey- I'll be pretty annoyed if I just spent $250 dvds two nights for a touch screen to use a screen I can't see :-/ I wonder if I can uninstall and load an earlier version.

productive night. received the other casters today so I got them all installed. though nearly identical I did have to add shims to the set of4 to raise them up to the other two.

it was slow going to raise the table up high enough to get a drill and driver in and lower it back down alone.

table is so short now. should make it easier to make the enclosure and release tools

today I did a few searches and found the cnccookbook touch screen set for mach... excited! until I installed it... another FAIL. I guess a new version of mach destroyed the screen sets?! I tried the one cnccookbook based his on too and it was almost identical. the fictions are there, I can touch a blank spot on the screen and it goes to a different one so I guess its just the buttons/bitmaps

keling order should be here friday, pretty excited

I got a response on from the author of the first one on the mach forums, apparently if you turn off resizing in the general options for mach and reload the screenset it does work.
The bug apparently was with the screen designer he used to create it. I haven't had a chance to verify it

The second one looks like you didn't put the graphics in the bitmaps folder.

To get the first set working the setting is called Auto Screen Enlarge, and it needs to be off.
It's in the General Config page.
I've just verified it does work.

    Question

thanks rpovey! that did work for me as well, but I'm not sure I like it any better than the stock screen. after playing around it seems all thats needed for the most part is a touch screen and a 10 key pad. I ordered one gto put under the touch screen, but realized I want the keyboard out if the way but still accessible.

so... I got lucky and found an old monitor/keyboard arm for free.
I tapped threads in some scrap alum and epoxied (which didn't hold so I gorilla glued it) to the key board.

the 4 holes on the right of the black bracket match the threads on the keyboard support. that bracketlocks in every 90 degrees with the push of a button. cut a piece of woods to tire the monitor to then bolt that to the stand so the base is wider and there is room for many of my favorite military grade fasteners.

    fully extended

it swivels at the base and at the monitor, plus the degrees of freedom of the monitor itself

    fully contacted

also got started on some ready wiring. pulled the honeywells apart and found that the write input is larger that these wires which is asking for
problems. SO- I added wire shething thats comical resident

I taped it inside and it made a snug fit with the opening on the honeywell very and feel amazing

    keling order is footed to be in today buy I'm at the dentist for an emergency wisdom tooth extraction x2. not sure how much i will get font this weekend since iv will be on st;

Yeah I'm not sure I like that screen set either.
Between the touch screen and an MPG you rarely need the keyboard.
But I agree yo still want one just out of the way.
The Touchy interface on EMC2 has a nice way of entering GCode in the equivalent of the MDI screen, and I might build a Mach screen set that does something similar, although it's not very high on my priority list right now.

I still remember having my Wisdom teeth pulled and that was 15 years ago, so best of luck, I wouldn't count on getting much done this weekend :P

Remember if you are using XP there is an onscreen keyboard as well, I just checked to see if it would work with mach on my netbook and it enters data into the mdi line no problem

Well the surgery was a synch. it hurts a LOT less than the last 4 days and really even less than this morning. took a norco when I got home but have just been taking IB since. took a nap and woke up to the dogs going nuts at the ups man...

very clean. interesting that he added 2 extra power plugs. not sure what those are for. I'm guessing its for 110 to a relay for the coolant then I can add my own connector to run the power from there to the pump. is that right?

I tried the on screen keyboard but it wouldn't input numbers for wizards and the like. its all good. I'll haver touch screen, 19 key for numbers, flip out keyboard for typing, AND a hand held trackball mouse that sits on your finger and pull trigger for left click.

fight get to paint that board yet because I have no primer, but I should have the motors turning tomorrow hopefully.

busy 12 hour day. got a lot of stuff done I had been dreading. started by mounting the monitor arm on the back right corner of the mill but realized that after I build the enclosure I wouldn't have very much room for adjustment so I moved it up to the front

then I added a shelf for the controller and a rack for the computer.

next I changed the power around so that there is only one heavy extension cord going to the mill table so I can move it easier.

then I picked up some mothers aluminum polish and gave lapping the ways a try. pretty impressed with the . don't know how well it will show up in pics

    before

    after

there is still plenty for the oil to grab to, but feels MUCH MUCH smoother.

with that done I decided to try the DB9 connectors. I copied CR's jig and would have been pulling my hair out.

this means I just have to wire the motors and I can make my motors turn paper! I'm excited!
