    JTCNCSX3 READY TO GO

yeah its a mouthful I know but I am finally ready to get started on this
lets start off with today is my 34th birthday and I got to go shopping today
went to grizzly showroom to buy an SX3 but they had none in stock which was a bummer, so I asked him to sell me the demo model nogo he said people could have ....fiddled with it, I told him it didnt matter to me but nonetheless he said no, BUT!! whilst shopping around the salesman came up and said they had one in the QC dept that was for sale as damaged but was not, It was a model they had stripped a couple of parts off for a customer, but they had replaced all the parts as well as some extras I guess. there was 4 extra handwheels, even handwheels not for the SX3, 2 extra scales, extra x axis leadscrew, and other misc stuff all for $900 bucks, and to top that off the R8 er collet holder I also was purchasing (holder plus 8 collets) regularly $190 was discontinued so he sold me the one under the glass for $90 bucks.
I have a friend who works there and they even gave his discount on top of every other discounts, long story short I walked out of there with a truckload off stuff and still spent less than the stock SX3
Who says you cant get a deal at Grizzly!

Soooo here is what the list looks like
    1) Grizzly SX3
    2)G540 axis package N23 381oz X and Y N34 906oz Z
3)ebay surplus computer small form factor
    4)touchpanel interface and silicone keyboard
    5)2500gph pump for flood coolant
6)CNCFUSION deluxe kit ( I gotta say that Michael and Shelley have been a pleasure to deal with they have great customer service and timely responses to email in fact I got my kit a little damaged simply cosmetic on the Y stepper mount and they are replacing it as well as paying for my shipping costs, en route to them now OH yeah I just wanted to say it was shipping damage and not machining damage)
    7)one shot oiler set-up
8)all the other miscellaneous do dads and what nots to get er up and running
    9)and ONE VERY understanding wife

Question how do you change rotation on a stepper motor, do I do it at the motor or in config?

During testing my Z was going backwards

Sounds good CB. You're off to a fine start. Great deal from Grizzly--YLB!

You COULD do it at the motor connection by switching the wires in one phase, but it will probably be much easier to change it in Mach3 config.

Nice looking stand & coolant pan ..

What process did you use to add the 'character' to the alum?

Very nice work on the stand CB! Looks like milling metal is in your near future. It's all right, we won't be bored with all the rest of the details. Do tell--and show more pics.

Did you get the CR G540 pulleys with that deluxe kit?

Heads up: You might want to consider losing or insulating that quill DRO before it shorts and fries all of your spindle motor electronics.

Nice kid! Enjoy her while you can. In what will later seem to have been merely the blink of an eye, she'll be all grown up and raising children of her own.
