Hey guys,

I got a new Sieg X3L (long table version).

I cleaned it and done a inspection.

Some issues.

1. Gib screw and gib has movement relative to each other, so when the head is lowered, the gib pops out and the head is no longer held tight on to the dovetails.

2. Moving the head towards the top of the column is more tighter than the bottom of the column. Is this a issue that can be easily fixed or something I would return the mill for?

3. The spindle speed knob is faulty. It doesn't work at the low range RPM. Mid and High ranges works. But I am told High is not as high as it is suppose to be and it shuts off somewhere in medium.

4. The column is not parallel with the table. But I suppose that won't effect anything.

5. Any thing else I need to look out for? This is the first mill I ever owned so my knowledge is very limited.
