These are pretty small (look at the list of what's available in the description. Or you can make your own if you have a milling machine. Just tilt an aluminum block at 45" in your vice...then run a square end mill through it. Instant V-block. It's also possible to make a V-block by clamping two pieces of round stock parallel. Or you can shim too deep a V groove by stacking plates on one side to "raise it up". There are a million ways to get what you want. http://cgi.ebay.com/6-PAIR-JUMBO-GRO...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/1-3-8-X-3-1-16-V...QQcmdZViewItem

I have a set made from starett(sp) years and years ago. At least I think they are staretts, they were in a red and black box and from the 60's precision ground also. the depth to the bottom of the V is around .250 the blocks are around 3/4 in tall to 1" tall. I have seen them before just can't remember the company who makes them. Also have a set that is 1/16 , 1/8 depth and 3/16" depth those I made on grinders, we used to do lots of little parts and had to use these for inspection purpose's. Like addict said they are very easy to make.

I was in hurry and actually made one out of plexiglass (I have laser engraver so it took almost no time). It did work fine suprisingly enough. I should listen to the advices and make one in probably steel later :P (I use cold air gun so it never really gets part hot to begin with... only reason I had no problem with plexi I think)

V Jaws Hi jinu117, I don't know what your application is but Snap Jaws makes some really nice V Jaws for your vise. They handle a wide range of sizes. Just something I thought I would share. John ![]()
