I am looking for a dividing head blueprint and have been unable to locate any. I have tried a search on CNC zone but to no avail. I would appriciate it if someone could point me in the right direction on locating either indexing or dividing head blueprints. Thank YOU |

| Hi, I see that you use the term "dividing head" very loosely. What do you want to use it for? To start off, a dividing head is a very sophisticated piece of equiptment. It will do a vast number of very accurate jobs, because they are designed to work this way. Depending on the scope of your work will determine the complexity of the design. Going from the simple DIY design that uses two bearing housings and a 60 tooth gear to index, to the more complicated using a gear and worm drive with division plates to give a huge range of divisions, and ultimately a tilting head model with capability to do the aforementioned plus being able to be geared to the mill X axis spindle to get helical gear cutting. All of these modes can be made by the average competent machinist. On top of this, how big do you want it? Do you want to hold your work in a 3 or 4 jaw chuck or collets? What range of divisions do you need? Do you want to use it for 4th axis CNC work? Do you want to work horizontal or vertical? How much would you want to spend to buy one? Ian. |

As i know, indexing head have many types, in my shop, have F11 universal dividing head, BS universal dividing head,CS(super indexing head, CC( simple indexing head), so you need to make sure what type of indexing you use.
