Opinions on side mounting a vice (pictures included)

Ok, I am mounting a vise on its side. You will find two photos attached to the thread. I just wanted to see what you guys think? Does anyone have any different ideas? I do not want to secure it to an angle plate. Im doing this so I can mount my part upright to drill it with a .500" drill, c'bore, and tap. Do you think this will suffice? and safely secure my part?

    Nice set-up...
Be sure to take the play out of the moveable with the adjustment screw.

I also used a long nut clamped onto a block with a square head jacking screw & used it to seat the part into the face of the vise to ensure repeatability. Just by hand tightening the jack screw to obtain pressure.

Thank you... well I ran my operation and nothing ripped apart so I am happy. Now we'll see if it holds up for 20 more runs. Haha.
Thanks for the tips... I didn't think to take the play out with the adj. screw.
I also think I might use that idea as well with the jack screw to ensure repeatability. I have to maintain a high tolerance when I go to drill out the other end. I definitely appreciate your help and ideas!
