From memory I needed to get M6 bolts to fit my 6040, even the M8 was too big. The muckmetal clamps ones that come supplied with the machine are M6.
cheers, Ian
I'm planning on buying a T-Slot clamping set but after watching this video:
I'm a little worried that this type of T-Slot set will not fit on my CNC machine which is a hobby 6040 Chinese mill. I measured the gap of my slots and they are about 8.5mm which is not enough to get your finger in the slot as it was possible in the video. Looks like pro machines use bigger T-Slots. Can someone confirm that my suspicions are correct in terms of this kit:
CLAMPING KIT - 58PCS - FOR MILLING MACHINE T-SLOT TABLE #P07
most likely being inappropriate for my machine?
Better yet, if someone could point me in the right direction of an appropriately sized clamping kit, that would be even better!

It's a state of mind!
Good luck. I've been looking for 1/4" clamping set for years. Had some that came with a crampy rotary table and LOVED them for clamping small parts on vise held fixture plates.
Please post back if you find a source!

Thanks, I wasn't aware there were sets for different types of T-Slots.
As for their availability... I found some that should fit in the 8mm t-slot table:
Clamping Kits
So it seems they do exist.
Nice! Wish I could find those in the US!
