Hi,
I've been doing my hobbies on my office desk and now the thing looks like a WW II survivor. I'd like to sand it and replace the decorative sheet on it.
The office is made of particle board and it has some cherry wood grain finish. The edges have a ~0.02" plastic sheet, while the surfaces have a very thin something, it could be paper - I don't know - it's almost as if the grain is printed onto the board.
My question is - how is this finish called and where can I get some replacement sheeting? I attached a picture for you guys to better understand what I'm looking for.
Thank you!!!

It is paper. I don't think you can buy it anywhere, and even if you could, you wouldn't be able to apply it.
Your best bet would be to sand it off and use a plastic laminate (Formica). You can order it from Home Depot or Lowes. Most Home Depot's stock a few colors which tend to be much cheaper than ordering, though.
