interested to see what people have to say.
i recently pulled my screws, cleaned them well and sprayed them with dry film teflon.
they previously were goop'd up with dust from being sprayed with wd40.
so far, so good!
I was wondering if using Dry Film Silicone Lubricant is a good idea? As it is a dry film it does not attract the dust and it would keep the parts running with less friction.
Thanks for your thoughts,

I to am looking for a good all round lubricant for rails, slides and screws. I no for sure if you are working with wood silicone is not the way to go. Once it gets on wood it is very difficult to remove and finishes will not adhere properoy to it.
There are some spray on products that were developed for Boing that are now available at the big box stores, I think they come in a white can with red print. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Good Luck,

I use air tool oil on my screws. But they are shielded from most dust, so I don't get any buildup on them. But it's very light, and lasts a long time. I wipe off the excess, so they stay pretty clean.
