Hi Guys...Need ur help.. I have recently made 4th axis for my machine, I have Mach3 installed at my PC..but I don't know how to figure out 4th axis... In motor Tuning wizard my A, B, C axis are jammed...as u can see in pictures.. I am using VisualMill 5 for generating Gcode... Following are my spec 1- My controller is set up in 1/2 step mode 2- Gear down ratio is 28: 108 (1 :3.857) 3- Stepper 1.8 deg. (200 steps) My steps per degree will be 2 x 200 x 3.857 = 1542.8????/360????? I read out Mach3 forum but didn't figure out how to setup 4th axis ![]() Need ur help please... |

| You need to assign the A axis ports and pins to enable it in motor tuning. And keep in mind that the A axis velocity is in degrees per minute.

But as soon i get the G code in the Mach3, I am finding the toolpath strange as shown in figure ![]() Attached also my motor output, inputs and toolpath configuration setting,.. Please help me |

| A quick glance at your gcode tells me that you may not have the model in the proper position in your software. The Z endpoints should probably all be positive because the tool is above the X axis centerline above the XY plane in Z, and your program is in G90 absolute mode, which is fine. Your part rotational axis must lie coincident with the X axis before you generate the toolpath.

Previously i was following Visual Mill Tutorial as aguide to generate toolpath. The toolpath was coming good in VMill and simulation was also right. But the Gcode in Mach3 found weired. This was rectified by setting all the axis at center of the work piece... So what i think, Is the Visual Mill tutorial is wrong???? |
