I have been working to control the dust in my shop and have hooked dust collection up to most power tools. What I have noticed is that the biggest source of dust is the blade of the tablesaw. I cut alot of MDF. I have collection for the base, but need something overhead. That and the fact that I do not like the blade guard has led me to look for inexpensive overhead blade guard with dust collection built in.

After looking at several models in the 300 - 600 dollar range, I was going to build my own design, but stumbled across this one by penn state industries.

Does anyone currently own and use one? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

I am looking to find out first of all how effective it is at dust collection, and secondly, I am concerned that the clear guard area would not function well. All others that I have seen have had a "ramp" area that rides up as the board is pushed through. This one does not seem to have that.

Everyones input is appreciated.
