Just made a snowboard for for my daughter. Check out Skibuilders.com and grafsnowboards.com. I used 1/32 hdpe for the bottom sheet(much cheaper than uhmw, we can't tell the differance on the slopes) pine and red cedar for the core(same as my canoes) three layers of 6 oz cloth(one at 45) top and botom, no topsheet. Only problem so far is the bottom sheet is starting to delam. I had sanded it with 40 grit but I didn't 'flame treat' it. After sanding it pretty fuzzy, run a torch over it, the idea is to 'burn' the tips without melting them back down to the substrate. this chemically changes the ends of the tips so they will stick to the epoxy. For your graphics, one of the best methods is to use Rice Paper get it at an arts supply store. if you keep it flat and are careful it will feed thru an inkjet or laser printer. Trim well and place against the wood under the glass. Be sure to saturate everythin well with epoxy and allow lots of squeeze out. the rice paper will go virtually clear giving stunning graphics. I used a vacume bag made from thin PE sheet and also used thin PE sheet(dropcloths) that i ad perforated with a board with lots of brads thru as a release layer, then several layers of paper towels(i use the blue kind) to soak up excess resin which goes thru the holes. trim, sand and varnish and the board looks great.
