If I only had a 4th axis...

I guess the hard part would be making all the knife long holes at different angles.

Not Really, It's all in the glue-up of the part, that would create the cavity's for the knives

You'd probably have some problems with undercuts. Cutting some of the slices upside down might help. Not sure if you can do that in Cut3D??

It would be difficult to do in cut 3D. You could cut the head easily enough but the holes for the knives seem to be crossing over many different layers which would be very difficult to cut in Cut3D unless the base mesh for the 3d head model was actually built in seperate layers and you import each into cut 3d individually. If the knife holes were not angular crossing different layers, then you could possibly import each Cut3D slice into V-Carve Pro to create the channels.

lol....There are plenty of times I think my wife would like something like that for me!

The head itself could be carved fairly easily, the problem is the knife holes. I just don't think they'd look the same if they were'nt at angles......would cerrtainly make an interesting present for some people though! I suppose you could make the head, glue it up, cut it at angles with a bandsaw, route in the holes manually, and glue it back together. I'd guess thats what the creator of this one did.

Do you own Silo? If you do, and you just want a random head model to try it with, there are some good ones posted on the forums that people might share with you if you let them know what its for. I don't have any for you myself I'm afraid.

Did you follow the link to this one? http://www.viceversa.com/Dynamic/Pro...emID,1447.html
It might actually be a bit easier to make because all the knives are going the same direction and its small enough to be carved in just two halves.

Wow I think they've been watching to many horror movies.
Could'nt after carving the head just drill slots into the head to make slots , may not have a square slot but dont think that would matter.
Silo would be the easiest to model a head in, Theres enough tutorials for head modeling. Graham
