    Dxf importing into woodwop

    Aloha,

I've tried a search but didn't come up with anything useful at the moment.

A couple of questions concerning dxf files and importing them into Woodwop.

    1. Is the path drawn on the autocad program changeable in WoodWop or do all the changes...IE: tool path, cutter, placement...have to be made in autocad?

    2. I have a large order of ceiling fan blades I have to machine and I would like to just "nest" them....Haven't found any tutorial on that in WoodWop either.

    3. Some of the edges on the plywood I've been using are "fuzzy" how can I fix this problem for a cleaner cut?

    4. The draftsman drew this dxf doing the to main arc 1st and 2nd then did the smaller corner radius's 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th..then the end ellipticals as cuts 7th and lastly 8th. Now when machining this the cutter with cut one side, lift up and head to the opposite side, cut then do the 4 corners, then the ends. Not in one continuous cut. Is this changeable in WoodWop or as question asks only in autocad?

    Mahalo for your time

    3. Try using compression spiral bits.

    4. never used woodwop (Weeke, right?), but you could try joining your arcs and lines in AutoCAD using PEDIT command.

I've tried the pedit command, select the arc and convert it to a poly then click on each adjoining poly in succession until the whole outline is all dashes....now what, is it all joined at this point? If so then when I save the file as a dxf and import it into WoodWop it will still have each radi, poly drawn do a separate cut. Very frustrating at this point and have used a pattern bit to cut out the first 80 blades. I hope I get this figured out when the 500 unit order comes in..

If you click on it, you'll see if it's been joined as all the grips will be highlighted for the whole line. When you say it is all dashed, you still need to hit enter to join it.

yes you can change all aspects of the imported dfx file. although several things must be done first.
    1. the engineer must proprly name the layer he is exporting as a dfx file(see the list of proper names in the big grey machine book that came with your weeke.
    2. you must have the bbp5 loaded on the machine you are impoting with. This will allow woodwop to import the dfx.
3.load the dfx through woodwop and onother program will appear. this program will allow you to save as an .mpr file.
    4. open the .mpr file and you change all aspects as usual.
