    Smile shop made floor sweep

heres some pics of a floor sweep i knocked together in about 15 min.
its about 16" x 7" has 3" wheels.. i hook it up to my dust collector and dont have to bend over any more .
all the parts come from around the shop, its something i dreamed up while playin with my cnc router, not perfect , but cheap and easy for me , anyways.

ps the conectors are sewer pipe

You inspired me to create a similar sweeper with handle. I actually ordered a 21 inch sweeper from Amazon (no handle of course) but its been back ordered for 2 months. This one will get me through till the sweeper arrives. I might have to think about some wheels too.

    sweeper

thats cool, the dust collector really does the job when it comes to putting some suction on the floor. I need to figure out how to hook it up to the cnc also.

Miller, what kind of router do you have? If it's a Hitachi, I'd be glad to send you the G-code to cut a bracket. This is a must-have piece of equipment.

I bought my hose kit from Harbor Freight. In the kit includes a couple of suction hood adapters. The larger one I used in my floor sweep. The smaller one I used on the CNC collector.

The plastic adapter in the picture clamps to the hitachi.

Let me know if you want to try this method. I cut mine in 1/2 inch plastic, but MDF will work too.

yup, its a hitachi variable speed, i downloaded joes dust shoe but it didnt seem to fit right. making some more clamps for the router today and moving them closer so i have more room for the dust shoe. would apprecaite a look at your dfx's for the dust shoe

More images. The shoe fits under the router support and squeezes the router. A long wood screw tightens the shoe to the router.

got that dxf file ? mine does not use a star shape clamp, must be a older version, cause it leaks dust everywhere.
made new clamps for the router today and attached them to a slotted backboard with gorrilla glue. used a fairly straight grained nice piece of white oak to cut them out of... mdf and plastic costs money, the sawshed has plenty of wood in it.
looks like a lil piece o furniture, wonder if i should stain it ? lol

I finally got home long enough to get the dxf file for you. I cut it from plastic. The slots give it plenty of flexibility. A long wood screw is used to tension squeeze the clamp. The large square block is also waste and this is the obvious location for the hose adapter.
